Skill Development Programme
Employment is a major problem in our nation, especially in rural areas. Sahithi identified this issue and has designed a programme to cater to the skill development of youth. Most of the underprivileged youth are educated however, lack the skill set to get into a proper employment leading to unemployment and frustration to the family. Sahithi Foundation identifies these underprivileged youth in the urban and rural areas. In the process, the rural youth were provided with skill-based training to equip themselves to get jobs in the private sector. About 260 youth (both boys and girls) have been identified from the rural areas from below the poverty line to benefit from the programme.
The youth who have passed 10th class and discontinued from intermediate and degree are also being trained in this programme. The main objective is to make the unemployed youth self-reliant by improving and enhancing their personality. The youth are divided into 2 batches. They are provided training on basics of computers, retail management and soft skills. After the training programme, few of them are also given placements.
