The Sahithi Foundation has formed 145 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) for the women of Huzurabad Mandal of Karimnagar District. Under this programme formation of new SHGs, strengthening of the groups, capacity building of the groups, and credit support for micro enterprises are some of the key activities. We aim at promoting micro enterprises through Self-Help Groups as a means of poverty alleviation. The women consumers are often cheated by manufacturers, shopkeepers, and service providers due to their socio-economic backwardness, inferiority complex, lack of unity, illiteracy, and ignorance. The foundation works hard towards women development, so that they overcome these hurdles and become financially independent.
Having recognized the importance of Consumer Rights, our Society has launched Intensive awareness programme on consumerism. As a part of programme, the Sahithi Foundation NGO has organized rallies and public meetings for generating awareness on Consumer Rights. Moreover, the society has also conducted consumer awareness activities in 16 villages of the operational area.
